Southside Community Project

The Southside is a transformative project set to revitalise 35 acres of green space on the southern edge of the city, creating a dynamic sports, food, and skills community destination for South Wye and Hereford. At the heart of Hereford's Town Investment Plan, as part of HM Government's Stronger Towns Fund.

At the core of The Southside Project there will be a learning hub building that will house all partners involved. This multifunctional space will feature a sports clubhouse, a shared learning area, an affordable café, a farm shop. Alongside the multifunctional space there will be a cookery school using the produce grown on site and a 3G sports pitch with associated changing rooms and facilities. It's a place designed to cater to diverse needs and interests within the community.

This project aims to inspire residents to learn, grow, and lead healthier lifestyles whilst coming together to connect and thrive.

Landscape Architecture - PLAN Design

Led by three local partners, the project is a collaborative effort between Belmont Wanderers FC, Growing Local CIC, and NMITE. Together, they are dedicated to delivering a sustainable and inspiring building that meets the needs of the community.

With outline planning granted, The Southside Project will transform the green space into sports pitches and community gardens and agricultural growing spaces. It's a place where residents will be able to engage in sports, grow produce, and enjoy the beauty of shared greenery.
